Mother's Day is May 13th!

Liz says: "How do you plan on celebrating mom this Mother's day?"

Crowd shouts: "By writing her the best mother flippin' note to her inside of the coolest, sweetest, and most beautiful mother's day card everrrrrrr!!!!"

Liz says: "That's what I thought."

Liz: "Smock's Mother's day cards this year are sweet and bright and BEAU-tifully letterpress printed in Syracuse, NY on wind powered presses!"

Crowd: "Oooooo. Ahhhhhhh."

Liz: "And you know about Rifle. I mean, I rave about Rifle Paper Co. all the time. Their designs are all hand-painted and printed in the sunny state of Florida by the lovely Miss. Anna Bond."

Crowd: "Anna, Anna you're so sweet! You're cards just can't be beat!"

Liz: "Couldn't have said it better myself." (smiles really big, and giggles to herself)

Mother's Day is in two weeks, pals. That's MAY 13th, to be exact. You should really get on that ;)

Spotted: Bonnie & Mox's wedding on Style Me Pretty!

It's a beautiful day here in Portsmouth and a perfect day to share some photos from a lovely wedding that we worked on last fall that is being featured on Style Me Pretty today.

The bride and groom, Bonnie & Mox, came to us via our dear friend and super-duper-talented wedding planner & designer Meagan Gilpatrick of Maine Seasons Events. We just love working with any of Meagan's clients as they always have the best style and we know they are in great hands with her at the helm. Add to the team of fabulous vendors the ridiculously talented Judy from Flora Fauna and photographer extraordinaire David Murray and Bonnie and Mox had a rockstar team from the start and we were honored to be a part of it.

Bonnie and Mox knew from the beginning that they wanted to make their stationery truly personal and specific to their coastal Maine wedding location. So, after some serious brainstorming sessions and lots of sketching, we decided on a z-fold style invite that featured a beautiful custom illustration** of their venue on the Maine coast across all 3 panels. The detailed line illustration, muted palette and beautiful letterpress printing by Alee & Press all came together to make one stunning final piece.

Check out some photos of the invitation below and the full wedding post on Style Me Pretty HERE.

who do you love?

When was the last time you told your lovey that you love them?

Like, love them up to the moon and the stars and the sun in the sky?

Love them like you love yourself a real fruit-juice pop on a warm summer day?

Love them like you love the melty cheese in that quesadilla you ate for dinns last night?

Love them like you love the smell of grass and pavement after a thunderstorm?

Tell me you're not thinking "Valentines Day" in your head right now!!
Pretty please tell me that you tell your lovely that you love them all the time??!!

I'm feeling compelled to share some EXTRA love today. Thinking about packing up a little bundle of goodies for the boy because he's just the sweetest. Who doesn't love a little love note for no reason, right??! And we just got some super rad new gifties at Gus & Ruby that I think fill our lacking "great gift that are practical and cool for them boys" category here at the shop.

Thinking this super cool, hand-carved iPhone dock from Areaware would be the perfect little thing to say: "I love you like I love to listen to music too loud in the bathroom when I'm taking a shower!". You feed your iPhone or iPod power cord through this sucker and you are in BIZ-NISS...

Or this, I could use this soft and smooth, hand-embossed leather pencil case as a totally straight-forward way to say: "I love you like I love to collect bright pens and pencils and markers to draw with!"

Or this. I think that this gift would totally get the point across. The card that would go along with this would say: "I love you like I love to collect little trinkets. Pretty little things. Sparkly things. Crafty things. Things that remind me of your handsome face and how sweet you are to me. You should really start corralling your trinkets, don't you think? Don't you think this walrus would be the PERFECT place to corral and store all of your favorite little wonders?"

You totally know what I mean here, right?!

If not, feel free to come see me at the shop this weekend. I'll be here every day at 10am. Prompt. And I'll be available to share with you all sorts of little doo-dads that are new to the shop that you could share with your lovey to be sure that they know just how much you wanna hug and squeeze 'em and be with 'em forever!

Gus & Ruby Letterpress in Martha Stewart Weddings magazine!!

Happy Monday, peeps! Hope you all had a lovely holiday weekend. We have some more VERY exciting news to share today: Gus & Ruby Letterpress is featured in the current issue of Martha Stewart Weddings magazine!!

We were absolutely thrilled to have our beautiful, calligraphy-based Wenham Suite chosen for the stationery feature in this Real Weddings issue. The collection, originally designed and printed in classic navy and silver for an incredible couple this past summer, was chosen by the editors to be featured in the "Summer" section of their seasonal stationery story. We adapted the palette of this letterpress suite to bold raspberry and light pink and kept the original features including a raspberry and blind printed belly band, custom gate-fold folio and stunning calligraphy by Elizabeth Porcher Jones. It's timeless and romantic and we couldn't be happier to see it on the glossy pages of MSW among work from some other very talented designers.

Happy 5th Birthday, Gus-a-Tron!

Happy Friday, friends! Today, I am wishing my little hairy prince, Augustus Gloop, a very happy 5th birthday!

Gus,
You are the tiny, snorty, ewok-y love of my life. And you're just as ferocious now as you were when I got you five years ago:

Well, maybe not.

But still, you're the greatest.
Love,
Mama
